“Cougar Tracks” Tracking the data and serving the lives of HES Scholars
Who: River Ridge High School and Hudson Elementary School students
What: Teaching Academy students ‘practice their craft’ with elementary students
When: 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Monday, November 12
Where: Hudson Elementary School, 7229 Hudson Ave., Hudson
Why: RRHS New Teaching Academy (NTA) students get the chance to "practice their craft" of teaching and supporting students. The Teaching Academy students fall in love with their students, sharing the struggles and successes of their scholars. The HES Cougars (and some of the teachers) cry when the students must leave their class after a day of work.
While districts struggle to fill classes with quality teachers, Pasco County has found a way to "grow its own" future. The program is in its third year, and in just 28 months the NTA and its support club, Florida Future Educators of America, has been named Florida Future Educators of America Organization of the Year 2018.
Come see how we #InspireTheDesireToTeach
How: More than 100 NTA students will board buses to work with Hudson Elementary School students. They will work the full day and then serve HES families at Cougar Café in the evening. It is a day of education, service, and inspiration.
