Bulls Annual Health Stampede at the Ranch

Who: Wiregrass Ranch High School students, teachers, and local presenters

What: Health Stampede

When: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, January 25

Where: Wiregrass Ranch High School, 2909 Mansfield Boulevard, Wesley Chapel

Why: For the third year in a row, Wiregrass Ranch High School is hosting their annual Health Stampede to promote healthy behaviors among students and staff.

How: Participants will experience various presentations that relate to healthy behaviors.

Pasco Fire Rescue will conduct a fire safety presentation. The school’s Psychology Club will present “Taking care of your mental self.” Publix dietician and nutritionist Holly Long will explain how to build balanced meals, read labels, and follow recipes. LA Fitness will conduct fitness tests for BMI, upper and lower body strength, and core stability. Nutrition Smart will provide nutrition information and discuss Keto basics and healthy lifestyles. Medical Academy students will lead discussions on three components of lifelong health. MADD will show presentations related to driving under the influence. The Florida Department of Health Pasco will demonstrate the effects on the body of nicotine and vaping, and discuss the importance of hand washing and vaccinations. Other participants include Baycare Behavioral Health, Poison Control and Project PUP (Pets Uplifting People). Participants also can win prizes.
