Application Period for Pasco’s First Technical High School Opens Monday

Land O’ Lakes, FL – (January 6, 2018) – Applications for Wendell Krinn Technical High School will be accepted online Monday, January 8, through Thursday, February 8.  The application will be available at on the 8th.

The school in New Port Richey will open in August, and will offer 14 college and career- ready pathways.  Course tracks have been developed for each pathway.

Some examples of the rigorous college prep tracks include applied cyber security, biomedical, computer system and information technology, and robotics.  Career prep tracks that lead to industry certification include tracks for air conditioning, refrigeration and heating technology; automotive collision technology; electricity; welding technology fundamentals; and a variety of other technical pathways.  Students who are accepted at the school also can earn up to 28 credit hours and credits toward a college degree.

Because not all students share the same interests and goals, Wendell Krinn Technical High School offers both industry certifications and an education that prepares students for an AA or AS degree program upon completion of a corresponding four-year, career-ready pathway.  The school will open at the current Ridgewood High School, giving students easy access to Fred K. Marchman Technical College next door for hands-on industry certification courses and Pasco Hernando State College for dual enrollment courses.

Students who live in the current Ridgewood attendance zone and will be seniors next school year may choose to attend the technical high school or may enroll at either Fivay or Gulf high school, depending on their home address.  New attendance boundaries for students in the current Ridgewood attendance zone can be found by clicking on this link.
